The study focused on an eight-session course based upon the Lord's Prayer.  The sessions, which were experiential in nature, were designed to enable participants to examine and share the nature of their prayer lives, and to explore ways in which they might expand their understanding of the grace of prayer.  In addition, participants were asked to read and respond to Leonard Boff's The Lord's Prayer: The Prayer of Integral Liberation, which is an interpretation of the Lord's Prayer from a liberation theology perspective.  A third component of the project was a series of sermons on the petitions of the prayer. The concept of base communities is used to test the readiness of a Hispanic church for ministry from a liberation perspective, and a couple of community-identified needs are chosen as testing grounds for the church's readiness for a theology of liberation. Shared praxis was the approach used for the practicum.
