This is true of Lutheran liturgical worship.  In this project/dissertation the writer made a historical search of relevant documents and administered exams to test improvement.  The writer's conclusion was that great value exists in retaining the traditional worship forms. This Bible study seeks to create a paradigm shift from a perspective that sees ritual, gesture and symbolism suspiciously to one that is both biblical and beneficial. The trend involves a move away from traditional liturgical worship to a contemporary style.  I sought to enhance my understandings of both this new approach and of the essential elements of Christian worship.  A conference on 'Worship as Evangelism' at Prince of Peace Lutheran in Burnsville, Minnesota, and extensive readings from both sides of the issue were the basis of the project.
