While the primary purpose of the paper was to validate and encourage the use of art illustrations in preaching, the expected result was not achieved.  The failed result was due to art illustrations being unfamiliar to the majority of congregations.  This would be an attempt to clarify the unfamiliar or abstract with another unfamiliar or abstract point.
