Yet, in the Western, Middle-Class Church (marked by syncretism) the world's ways (which exclude 'inconvenient others') conflict with Jesus' ways (of embracing them). Consequentially, many Christians do not demonstrate Beatitudinal Character, the attributes of Matthew 5:3-10. Using Action Research, 11 drop-in centre volunteers, over 3 sites, were interviewed and surveyed. Data was collected via an online questionnaire and the study design was mixed methods with an emphasis on the qualitative data. Study sample included 80 students/alumni from 19 Christian colleges/universities. Generally, respondents felt lonely, hid their sexuality and reported a negative campus climate. Society has mis-judged them and abandoned them in the system.  Leaders in the church, school, local government and even parents have often failed to nurture seeds once rooted, and now disconnected from the soul.  Their hearts are saddened, spirit is broken, due to rejection and abandonment.
