Compatibility is established in the first session of a five-session program by using William Schutz's FIRO-B inventory, family systems data, and the couple's courtship data.  During the fifth session, the couple retake the FIRO-B and again respond to a taped marital conflict.  The retest results show evidence of growth. Results from the program demonstrate that four of the five couples tested show an increase in negotiation learning and compatibility.
