In theory  no  less  than liturgy  Protestants  attest  the  permanency  of  the  marriage relationship.  The  marriage  service  has  often  included  the familiar  phrase  'so  long  as  we  both  shall  live.'  Premarital counseling ,  at  least  premarital  counseling  rooted  in  the solid  biblical  tradition,  stresses  the  indissolubility  of this  union.
