The project was designed to: encourage both partners to see decision-making on the basis of competency and shared agreement rather than on gender; see the financial management of the family as a shared responsibility; and build the couple's communication skills in order to enhance an equal companionship relationship. Based on the understanding that both male and female share equal dignity and value before God, the project was conducted with the presupposition that Nigerian Christian husbands can break through tradition to live happily as equal companions with their wives.  To accomplish the project objective, ten selected Nigerian marriage partners participated as an 'experimental group' in a marriage enrichment program. The writer first researched Western models of marriage enrichment and gathered materials which were presented to an indigenous pilot group. This group tested and further developed materials which are culturally sensitive and suitable for use in Fiji.  The results of pre- and post-program evaluation instruments, administered to two marital and two control groups, indicated that the program positively affected the marriages of the participants. This project is designed to help prevent marital failures by helping people understand their marital covenants.  When people learn about marriage, faithfulness, covenant and intimacy, and marry more wisely, for the right reasons and at a more responsible time in their lives, then they will have more faithful marriages. Chapters 1-3 provide biblical, theological and ecclesiastical perspectives on marriage.  Chapter 4 examines four theories that claim to predict marital success.  Chapter 5 describes developmental theories about young adults.  Chapter 6 explains techniques on writing effectively to young adults.  Chapter 7 is a marriage pamphlet for young adults contemplating marriage.
