A twelve-week study of 189 couples from Park Community Church in Chicago, Illinois, comparing three groups: a self-directed group, consisting of 63 couples who did Couple Checkup on their own; a discussion group, consisting of 63 couples who did Couple Checkup and discussed with a small group; and a control group that did not do Couple Checkup. Paired t-tests were performed, comparing pretest to posttest ratings on the ENRICH COUPLE scale. This project was designed to help Christians be more intentional about cultivating their marital relationships. The purpose of this project in ministry was to build biblical Christian marriages that would withstand the challenges that arise in the marital context. The research question asked was,'If Christians are equipped by their minister for marriage enrichment, will their marriages be strengthened?' Using a 5 level-Likert scale questionnaire, the toolkit was evaluated by clergy, pastoral counselors, and lay church members. The toolkit was evaluated for potential usefulness, current helping models of practice, comprehensiveness, conciseness, accessibility, and potential for favorable outcomes. Quantitative data was analyzed using predictive analytics software and qualitative questionnaire data analyzed using a conceptually clustered matrix. Phenomenological methodology was employed to elicit 15 women's stories of betrayal and healing. Three main frameworks of meaning emerged in the precedent literature and research interviews: addiction, traumatology and transformation. Biblical word studies anchored the research: imago Dei, one flesh, sexual sin, betrayal and healing. The findings reveal that healing is a complex and lengthy process. The women found God faithful through multilayered betrayals. Recommendations for missionary women and member care providers are given. The marriage seminar was designed to be biblical in every aspect, avoiding all eclecticism. Chapter 1 introduces the goals, purposes, rationale and limitations of the project. Chapter 3 discusses the problems of idolatry, self-centeredness, sinful communication and unbiblical views of love. The Biblical solutions to these problems are addressed. Chapter 4 is a summary of how this project was conducted. Chapter 5 is an evaluation of the
