Nine couples participated in a study designed to teach husbands and wives how to pray for each other in the context of daily life. The Intimacy Needs Survey (Bagarozzi, 2001) was used as the pretest-posttest instrument to measure changes in the couple's perception of intimacy. Analysis of the raw scores indicated 89 percent of the couples reported an average of 30 percent increase in intimacy. Interchurch has been narrowly defined for the purposes of this study as a couple where one partner is Roman Catholic and the other practices another Christian tradition. Utilizing the Narrative Inquiry research method, the author explores the stories shared by interchurch facilitators of marriage preparation programs and interchurch engaged couples in an effort to develop a relevant marriage preparation session for interchurch couples. The study further sought to identify the factors most influencing MS. This project was evaluative in a nonexperimental mode using a quantitative research survey. The study was a pioneering work with the results indicating a great need for marriage and family ministry. The foundation of the case for integration was developed theologically, psychologically, and sociologically toward the purpose of a systemic understanding of theory and culture. This theoretical review of published literature addressed the conflict between the various theological, psychological, and sociological philosophical presuppositions. The theory was developed and applied utilizing the presupposition of God as creator of relationship. The Holy Spirit as the dynamic to convict of sin and empower behavioral change and the importance of forgiveness and repentance in relationships were presented. By practicing this discipline together, would they draw closer to God and to each other?  Focus groups, journals, and surveys showed the couples benefited from their joint spiritual discipline.
