Data from an extensive survey instrument mailed to the pastors is analyzed, conclusions drawn and recommendations made for further study.  The project includes a survey of marriage preparation literature written since 1940 as well as a chapter surveying marriage preparation in biblical literature. Research into the current literature on marriage, an interview with a clinical psychologist, and questionnaires indicate that communication and conflict resolution skills are vital for good marriages.  Exercises are assigned to the couples during the seminar to put these skills into practice. The major biblical concepts of marriage and sexuality are presented. By clarifying and following what is promising in the marital commitment and in the new community, marital partners may develop personal contacts, integrate the move into their personal and marital goals and decrease marital stress.  The author implements Juergen Moltmann's theology of hope into a ten week program of workshops and field trips for seven couples who have moved recently. It develops a couples' prayer workshop as an intervention tool to promote marital prayer, and evaluates the results through pre- and post-tests of the experimental and control groups.  The results reveal a slight but definite correlation between conjoint prayer and marital adjustment.  No significant difference is found in a comparison of either the practice of conjoint prayer or for marital adjustment. A pre-test questionnaire measured levels of marital satisfaction and the endorsement of irrational beliefs and offered rational alternatives to these beliefs to determine the impact of the workshop. She presents herself as in desperate need of affirmation.  The woman feels that she is not in control of her life and is a failure in both her profession and her marriage.  The author uses object relations mode of therapy to treat the woman.  He integrates this approach with theological aspects which are suggested by Paul Tillich's writings.  The client's husband joins her in therapy.  This addition contributes to the building of a satisfying marital relationship.
