The goal is not to isolate the therapeutic benefits of the spiritual disciplines, but to grow in godliness.  Doctoral classes and library research were combined to create an eight-session class which focused first on intimacy and spiritual intimacy.  The remaining six sessions dealt with the spiritual disciplines of the Word, meditative prayer, simplicity, forgiveness, service and worship. Chapter 2 discusses the development of the biblical model of the one-flesh relationship of marriage.  Chapter 3 uses research in the behavioral sciences to focus on the development of the marriage enrichment movement and ministry.  Chapter 4 focuses on implementation of a marriage enrichment program in Victory Baptist Church.  The social research tools used to measure growth in a couple's primary coping system as a result of marriage enrichment are also discussed. Chapter 5 presents a summary and evaluation of the ministry project. This project tested the hypothesis that enhanced communication and improved personality awareness among spouses would enrich marriage relationships.  The methodology of this project included theological and social research in the areas of Christian marriage and communication.  Private couple/leader sessions and group sessions were used to implement this project. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, M-BTI Relationship Report, Taylor-Johnson Temperament Analysis, and Prepare-Enrich Inventory were utilized throughout this project.
