The project director enlisted mentor couples and led them through six hours of mentor training regarding biblical principles of mentoring and marriage, conflict and resolution, stedardship, strengthening relationships, improving communications, and parenting together. With upwards of half of the marriages ending in divorce and a growing trend of cohabitation rates, most marriage practitioners feel helpless to do anything to stave off this crisis. This longitudinal study explores some of the advances in science, education, and theology to identify the potential impact that experiential learning and the role of the practitioner have on marital enrichment outcomes. Then, work on a project of developing a handbook of middle aged couples development for middle aged Chinese Christians. The methodology used for the study, first review literature regarding midlife marriage. Then investigate the lived experience of middle aged couples in a Chinese church.
