In addition to the results of a needs assessment, the Old and the New Testaments provided guidance for establishing mentoring relationships. The project includes comprehensive guidance on (1) developing a quality mentoring program; (2) recruiting, training and supporting older male mentors, and (3) evaluating the results. This project is a cooperative model in which both the mentor and the mentee are obligated to one another and each is responsible to God. The booklet was tested over a five-month period ending with a threefold evaluation.  The project calls for leaders to model Christ for the mentorees.  The report discusses mentoring as exemplified in scripture, and summarizes the difficulties, benefits and lessons learned from the project.  It concludes that mentoring can be done in Cameroon if pastors are appropriately equipped and encouraged. He used the qualitative research methodology to guide the project. The result of the study was the discovery of twelve important elements of a mentoring relationship. The author learned that these elements, when consistently emphasized, should lead to a gospel-centered, grace-oriented mentoring strategy that will avoid the extremes of cheap grace and moralism. Individuals within the church who have evidenced a call to vocational ministry will be paired with a pastoral staff member who will serve as a mentor. The program will attempt to develop these ministerial students through mentoring relationships. The project leader will meet weekly with the pastoral staff and ministerial students for large group teaching sessions related to spiritual growth and ministry. The six members of the pastoral staff will meet with smaller groups of ministerial students (two or three students) on a weekly basis for mentoring. The mentoring meetings will consist of debriefing these students on the personal growth achieved through the teaching sessions and various assignments. The pastoral staff will meet together weekly to discuss issues and questions related to individual groups. This project will provide a preparatory learning experience for ministerial students and show that mentoring is an effective means of spiritual and vocational growth. To test this thesis, the author designed and taught a course in the spiritual disciplines and mentored selected participants in the practice of solitude, silence, and meditation. Ten recruits were selected for this study and were divided into two groups. Both groups were instructed at the same time, but only Group One was mentored on a weekly basis between class sessions.  The measurement to determine if those who were mentored in the disciplines had an increase in practice and spiritual well-being above those who were only taught was to compare the pre-/post-test SWB and Discipline Frequency Report scores between the two groups. All participants increased in the practice of the three spiritual disciplines, but there was no statistically significant difference between the mentored and non-mentored group, nor was there a statistically significant correlation between the frequency of practicing the three disciplines and increase in the SWB score. It involved teaching multi-level mentor training to a group of cell leaders and cell members. A test to measure identification with statements that reflected the qualities of a multi-level mentoring disciple-maker was given both pre- and post-course to measure any increase in identification, along with journaling.
