The aim of this study is to show churches can use a mentoring model to help experienced teachers transfer practical knowledge to trainees and multiply available, trained teachers. A secondary aim is to show that the mentoring model matches biblical principles. This study, through an integrative review and critical analysis of literature, explores the biblical, theological foundations of teacher training, surveys the development of teacher training in the church, and based on the Bible and history presents a model for teacher apprenticeship. First were the many social issues that arose during group discussions, especially from students newly transplanted to the Boston, New England, area from other countries and how these issues impacted their personal spirituality. Second was the difficulty of some of these ministerial students in relating American methodology reflected in the reading material, with the overall cultural attitudes of their congregants who had been raised in other nations. The research material, as well as the information provided from the methodology utilized through systems thinking seeks to inform those of us desiring to develop a more diverse understanding in pastoral care in an increasingly multicultural society. The various literature and causal loop diagrams assisted in examining the spiritual, social, and emotional data needed to strengthen Mentored Ministry students in their pastoral roles in church and within their community. The resulting information revealed a clear need for those attending the class sessions and Peer Theological Groups to recognize a broader scope required in pastoral care as ministers within their various church and para-church positions. Chapter two of the research project explored and established a biblical and theological basis for personal evangelism. Chapter three presents an investigation of the mentoring process and its uses in three extra-biblical settings (e.g. the relationship of Socrates and Plato).  Research into mentoring relationships in the medical nursing and education professions provided examples for using mentoring relationships in a church's evangelism ministries.  Chapter four described the twelve week process of equipping a selected group of members of First Baptist Church to initiate a mentoring relationship with specific emphasis on personal evangelism.
