The author used a survey and a review of the medical literature to identify the obstacles and facilitators of spiritual growth during internship. Then she designed a curriculum of twelve Bible lessons which were piloted by mentor-intern pairs. Many obstacles prevented mentors and interns from adequately piloting the curriculum, although those who did use the curriculum found it very helpful. The eight-session program (including interview, group instruction, a six-part fable, individualized feedback, action-learning, and reflection) was based on Jesus' principles of leadership development as evidenced in his development of the twelve disciples. Sixteen pastoral staff participated in the four-month program and were pretested and posttested using both quantitative and qualitative measurements. That vision is 'A tithe of Roseville.' The need of this project is to begin mentoring, training, and establishing a leadership structure that will facilitate the realization of this vision. A nine-session training and mentoring session was conducted to provide the leadership team a foundation in core functions of the church and leadership principles and theory which will improve their effectiveness in the core area they serve. The workshop was a seven-week training event that equipped twelve people, six men and six women, to be spiritual mentors.  The project director used various evaluative measures, including assistance from academic expert Dr. Jerry Pounds and educational expert Carol Passmore, to analyze the project.  The workshop launched spiritual mentoring as a disciple-making strategy at His Church in Pineville. In the context of an eight-week, learning-focused, mentoring relationship, participants developed leadership and communication skills, and set goals for spiritual and ministerial growth. All participants showed growth in all specified areas in their final assessment of the mentoring program. The project director identified five leadership skills, five communication skills and five spiritual formation qualities necessary for ministry excellence. The school selected 10 boys that would benefit from a mentoring relationship and the church provided the mentors. One on one meetings, group sessions and field trips were used to teach character and leadership traits.
