It suggests a way to teach students so that they and their teachers share each others visions and stories.  The methods of study and research include: a) planning a series of lessons and b) teaching sessions while under supervision. Research into the biblical, historical, and theological roots of the sacrament led to the development of a theological framework which featured the primary aspects of remembrance, proclamation, participation, and thanksgiving.  This research also contributed to the planning of a study series, sermon series, and worship series which involved the congregation of First United Methodist Church, Moweaqua, Illinois, in a consideration of the sacrament's place in their faith experience.  Involvement in the project by this congregation led to a broader understanding of the sacrament, an enhanced experience of it, and a willingness to commune more frequently.
