The author’s theological understanding of why the church feeds people is explored. The author explores how members and volunteers understand the connection between feeding people and faith, and how (or whether) faith should be shared at the food pantry. Interviews with parishioners and volunteers are reported. The value of helping people and the importance of feeding people without requiring a statement of faith or a benefit to the church is established. In doing so it considers key characteristics revealed by research within the English Anglican tradition and explores those characteristics as understood in Biblical and Reformed theology.
