The lack of a clearly defined vision statement by Christian leaders is a major contributing factor to plateaued or dying churches.  A clear statement of vision provides a ministry with greater direction, unity, relevance, motivation, financial support, and valid education.  Will a 3-month small group study using Malphurs's steps for building vision produce a clear and unified vision of ministry among the leadership of Warren Community Fellowship, as determined by using a pretest and posttest vehicle of measurement?  Warren Community Fellowhship is a 5-year old, suburban, non-denominational community church with an average attendance of 400. The third step of the methodology, which involved drafting a vision statement, was tested over a four-month period with the First Baptist Church of Media, PA. As a followup to this study, the annual planning session for the church was conducted and a new mission statement was developed with visioning and goal-setting.
