It is comprehensive in covering all relevant topics, while utilizing the best insights of recent textbook writers, missiologists, and the project's fresh insights.  The introduction surveys the accomplishments of 200 years of Protestant missions. Research focused on an examination of past training and interviews of 120 persons, including laity, clergy, missionaries and administrators. The research led to the development of three training modules: 'communication styles,' 'the vision and ministry of CBHMS,' and 'building a support team'. Then, the missionary can develop objectives, instruction, curriculum, and structures unique to the context in which he/she will minister.
