Yet, through video partnerships, these churches have a chance to be or become missional. The nature of these rural video partnerships has been to help existing but dying rural churches find support and facilitate its health and life. This project surveyed past and present video partners to help determine whether the partnerships were or are achieving those goals. The project consisted of two phases.  During phase one the project director explored the demographics of Covington County, Alabama, and the profile of Covington Baptist Association Churches.  During this phase the project director also investigated existing strategy models in order to discover the best practices in strategy development.  During phase two the project director led a selected group of leaders of the Covington Baptist Association of Covington County, Alabama, to develop a multifaceted strategy for the association. Sixty pastors were surveyed using a random sample of Christian Reformed Church pastors to ascertain what their congregations most needed in order to do international missions well, resulting in a strategic plan to serve congregations. The author explored the background of the sweeping changes that the Church faces in the twenty-first century, visited congregations of various sizes and locations to investigate how the average parishioner understands discipleship, and undertook the work of developing a parish covenant as a way of strengthening community and forming disciples for the work of mission. Parish surveys, semi-structured interviews and statistical analysis were employed. This project examined the initiation tradition of the two tribes to identify elements that the church could use to make the Christian faith more meaningful to them. The author used seminars and multiple intervention tools with selected members of the tribes. Using action/reflection methodology, the project considers four outreach initiatives made by the congregation in the period from 1998 to the present -- a weekly community meal, a child care center, a neighborhood housing development organization, and collaboration with Narcotics Anonymous. This training manual also provides information regarding the histories and effects of major missionary influences of the region's past.Evaluations reported that the manual provided an adequate summary of historic mission endeavors in Alaska's panhandle.
