The course content was developed out of a study of biblical and theological foundations of mission, a review of the history of Korean overseas mission, and a survey of present understandings of mission in these same five churches.  Questionnaires administered before and after the course indicated changed attitudes toward critical issues in overseas missions policy and practice. Bibliographic, historical, descriptive and evaluative research were required.  The use of case studies was considered essential. Six major Ivorian cities were chosen with interviews conducted among missionaries from ten mission agencies. Fervent prayer, a diverse use of means and methods of evangelism, mission coordination, cell group formation, and theological education are among the priorities for successful evangelization and church planting-efforts. One hundred nineteen medium-size congregations of the Oklahoma District Council of the Assemblies of God were studied with concentration given to the auxiliaries reported by those congregations.  The hypothesis was based upon the concept of a unified mission.  Implementation was guided by the belief that multiple functioning and giving auxiliaries affected positively world ministries giving.  The project failed to establish such a positive relationship due to disparities even among churches reporting the same number of auxiliaries. Recruitment difficulties and on-site conditions resulted in the omission of key elements in the leadership style of the team leader. The author studied other other Asian sending agencies, especially the Domei mission (TEAM) in Japan.  A constitution and bylaws were written for the new Taiwanese sending agency, and compared with other Taiwanese agencies' organizational policies to ensure compatibility with Chinese thinking, methodology and culture. The program's goal is to shepherd and equip newcomers in their cultural adjustment.  Surveys, orientation programs, and books provided the resources.  Five cross-cultural training principles provided the structure.  The exit phase stresses skills required for a cross-cultural ministry.  The entry phase equips the newcomers to adjust to their new environment and to achieve communicative competence. Methods and measurable results are included in the project. SIM International directed each area to revise its orientation program and state measurable objectives.
