Members of the body of Christ and our natural world are excluded from experiencing wholeness and life due to injustice, discrimination, inaccurate readings of scripture, and lack of discipleship. This happens when a church has not carefully examined scripture, which clearly shares with us Christ's desire for us to heal the broken body of Christ. It is clear that Jesus asks church members to re-member the broken body of Christ. By re-membering, I mean that we are called to re-engage those who have been excluded. The charismatic and traditional members were brought together through eleven program committees which were reorganized and developed according to Paul's analogy of the body of Christ (I Cor 12-14), the sermons of John Wesley and the United Methodist Council on Ministries structure. This small group movement drew in eighty nonactive, traditional members. It produced more than forty-eight new projects and programs that redefined and re-educated the church."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31bd5819-b5a3-4928-96d5-b581f38b637b"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791127644347039744,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:47:11.819Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:25:53Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:44:09Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"91685680-3a10-4c8a-8465-1172b7999b98","accessControl_ssim":["e3201658-35e2-47cb-852c-55c38a8a99de"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Building up the family of Christ: a systems approach to church development"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:25:53Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:23:23Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["b719b555-3dd3-4c15-9836-d62a1d62f6b4"],"hasLease_ssim":["fe459462-7c31-4894-9c04-b7c5dff601f1"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Candler School of Theology"],"year_tesim":["1985"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["William Harvey Jenkins"],"publisher_tesim":["Candler School of Theology of Emory University"],"subject_tesim":["Organizational change","System theory","Mystical body of Jesus Christ"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The project tested a process for church development.
