After the departure of their long-term pastor, South Church faced internal, communal, and cultural transitions. This project used narrative tools to reconnect the congregation to their biblical, communal and personal faith stories. The three tools were 1) a Lenten-Eastertide sermon series; 2) remembering the church's history using their 250th anniversary banners; and 3) an Appreciative Inquiry process. The report deals with relevant cultural issues and builds a biblical foundation for the thesis that God desires to reveal a personal life-long, all-encompassing purpose to each individual.  The research revealed that this calling contains a personal life message. The project developed a handbook from which lessons were taught, set forth a normative framework to guide the worship planners, and evaluated the outcome of a month's worth of worship services in order to identify areas where a Christian worldview perspective could be more fully integrated into the corporate worship setting. The research design involved literature reviews, evaluation and feedback from participants in the study, and survey research and evaluations of Sunday morning worship services.
