The project director researched the field of new member assimilation. The research proved helpful as an annotated bibliography was developed with the various resources in the field of new member assimilation. The resources provided information for the construction of a list of best practices utilized in new member assimilation. The project director developed lesson plans and instructed the selected deacons on the key issues of new member assimilation. The selected deacons identified needs for the assimilation of new members into Bethel Baptist Church. The project director enlisted a field mentor, professional educator, and practitioner for the evaluation of different aspects of the project. He focused on how to create reconciliation and a healthier community of believers among them biblically and relevantly: James 2:1, 'My brothers, as believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, don't show favoritism' and the brotherhood-and-sisterhood movement from Koinonia movement. The author tried to engage these two insights with Jesus' discipleship, and then explained how the congregation can equitably put them in the congregation's relationship: the brotherhood-and -sisterhood movement and Jesus' disciple-making. The project director developed a training curriculum. He enlisted recruitment team members, know as 'connection coaches,' for six training sessions. The connection coaches learned about spiritual gifts, personality temperments, natural abilities, and best practices for helping members become involved in ministry. After the training, connection coaches accepted an assignment to contact a specific new member. He or she facilitated that new member's enlistment into a ministry position. Objective evaluators in the fields of curriculum development and lay ministry recruitment evaluated the project director's growth.
