The issue chosen was the threat of nuclear war and the nuclear arms race and the method of teaching was a pedagogical approach designed to enhance moral reasoning development. The church can effect its ministry to the world in this context through concerted reflection and action.  The thesis draws upon pertinent readings of theological, ethical, and political literature.  It also reports the methods and outcomes of a lay study group in a Unitarian church on peacemaking.
