The theological framework as well as the theoretical and practical literature review will inform the project design for this thesis. Subsequently, a series of questions will be constructed in order to guide elder input, by questionnaire and focus group discussion, informing ministry leaders toward development of purposeful corporate worship with elders in transition from sanctuary to chapel. The author created and tested four sessions of an arts and theology resource with an older adult ministry in a local church. The sessions centered on art, poetry, games, and drama and concluded with evaluative surveys from participants. Additionally, three participants completed an arts interview and the Daily Spiritual Experiences Scale. The ethnographic research method was used to study the control population at a retirement center to observe the participants and the way they were affected by the prayer device, qualitatively and quantitatively, as appropriate to their ability.
