A foundation of Christian ministry is constructed with the study of several chapters of the gospel of John, Ephesians, and First Peter. Next, basic principles of ordained ministry are gleaned from known ancient and classic theologians and key documents like the Anglican Thirty-Nine Articles. Through biblical, bibliographic and personal interviews, the author establishes that ordination is not a requirement for Christian ministry, but its proper practice enhances the health of local churches' ministries and is more than the rite itself.
