Volunteers trained in parable use with helpees and in verbatim-writing evaluated that use.  Infrequent opportunity for Bible use with helpees by volunteer ministers did not provide the experience or justify the training needed to maintain proficiency. In this crisis an answer is demanded to the question, 'Was my life worthwhile?' The following two focus points are crucial to a positive response to the above question. First, the approach used by Thomas Groome referred to as 'story-telling' and 'creative imagination' will be explored with George Stroup's use of biblical narratives for helping older adults in making meaning in their lives.
