The second chapter focuses on Biblical and theological perspectives.  The issues of patriarchy, child care options for newborns, and the church's involvement are discussed.  The thesis: clergy have more flexible daytime schedules, making it possible for caring for their infants during the day.  The project details clergy experience and summarizes non-random purposive sampling of other clergy to determine their infant care solutions. The church must take an active role in ministering to this growing population, and must offer support, encouragement, and meaning to alcoholic families.  The study is a reflection on six years of ministry to adult children of alcoholics on a university campus.  Included are the theological foundation, role of the church, description of the needs of adult children of alcoholics and the implications for ministry.
