Attention is given to the attitudes of parishioners regarding their willingness to participate in counseling.  The research demonstrates a definite concern for privacy and anonymity for most members.  The clients of the center are also surveyed.  The factors of location, privacy, pastoral counselor, cost and referral are rated by their importance in the client's decision to seek counseling at this center.  The responses of church members, unchurched persons, church leaders and non-leaders are compared and contrasted. The chaplain asked fifty-two students to form nine counseling groups focusing on their interpersonal conflicts.  In six sessions they were trained to use an ethical model to resolve their conflicts. Case studies and counselee evaluations were completed for three church members.  The theology/philosophy and the counseling model were effective in giving direction in counseling. The training program included didactic seminars, counseling sessions, group discussion, case studies, and role play.  Experimental and descriptive research methodologies were used with control and experimental groups.  Statistically significant growth was measured in the deacons' understanding of senior adult needs, crime's impact on senior adults, and counseling senior adult victims. The paper includes a report and analysis of a workshop organized and led by the author and Gretchen Helm, EdD.  The workshop provides insights taken from an experience of reactions to the issues raised by the sexual abuse of female children.  Because the paper deals exclusively with counseling female survivors the biblical and theological perspectives are weighted toward the feminist perspective. Four sermons were preached in a worship setting, two deductive and two inductive.
