As such, it formed a segment within a clinical pastoral education program in a hospital setting.  A supervisory method of education was developed based upon adult learning theory. Research included an examination of the wholistic concept, its biblical and theological bases, and its historical development.  Models of wholism are included in the project along with learning experiences of the participating pastors and physician. Hoping and waiting are biblical themes which suggest that separated families experience varying degrees of suffering. Three families are interviewed and described.  The units interviewed consist of a remarried couple, former spouse and their spouse, and the children involved.  The themes that emerge are presented and possible areas for additional research are defined. The author used the three guidelines of Drucker's Management by Objective as the process whereby the center was planned, implemented, and evaluated. Ninety-six persons received professional counseling by a certified pastoral counselor.  A survey of presenting problems of the counselees indicates that a majority of issues centered around difficulties in marriage, family relationships, and personal struggles such as feelings of inferiority and depression. The emotional impact upon children and parents is presented. The biblical-theological foundations of post-divorce adjustment are viewed with the aspect of forgiveness as a primary element in adjustment and decreasing stress in the post-divorce period.  Research was accomplished through a library survey of behavioral science and legal data, along with interviews of family counselors and judges.
