The research consisted of a qualitative study in which five families which include a mentally handicapped child were interviewed separately to explore their experiences with God and with local churches. I reached several conclusions for the local church: acknowledge the mentally handicapped as gift; resist dehumanization of the mentally handicapped; listen and learn from personal stories; be proactive in responding to mentally handicapped children and families; It appears from this study that there are faith-specific support programs to be taken into consideration when exploring the concerns of combat veterans diagnosed with PTSD. This study hypothesized that a biblically oriented marriage enrichment course concerning relationship self-regulation (RSR) would increase both personal responsibility for marriage and marital satisfaction in marriage and that RSR, as a measure of personal responsibility, would positively correlate with marital satisfaction (MS). Forty-three couples were assessed on their relationship self-regulation and marital satisfaction, pre and post course. The focus was to make accessible to non-clinical inner healing ministers recent psychological and neuroscientific findings about attachment wounding. Twelve participants assessed the resource by an instrument that included Likert-scale quantitative and open-ended qualitative questions. Quantitative data revealed strong agreement that the resource provided a basic understanding of attachment wounds. Qualitative findings revealed 100% of the participants described the resource as helpful. The focus of the project was for participants to learn how to incorporate transparency into their daily lives through various teachings, practicing accountability, communicating true feelings, developing a deeper intimacy with God, and experiencing formational prayer. The author assessed the goals by using a rating scale. Data indicated that transparency was impacted significantly. A Caring Ministry Handbook was developed to promote clarification and collaboration in ministry strategy, alignment and operation. An action research was adopted using two pilot programs, integrating pastoral care and discipleship, to address people's bio-psycho-socio-spiritual well-being.
