As such, it formed a segment within a clinical pastoral education program in a hospital setting.  A supervisory method of education was developed based upon adult learning theory. These poor self-images seem to produce low self-confidence which affects the way persons express themselves as Christians and as human beings.  A Bible study undergirded by an investigation concerning self-image in the Bible, process theology, and psychosynthesis was posited to enhance self-image.  Such a Bible study, with careful attention to using both hemispheres of the brain, was constructed. The primary tool involves daily use of an imagery model outlined in Getting Well Again, (Simonton, Simonton, and Creighton) with five persons whose physical dysfunction of prolonged duration serves as an indicator of stress.  The group meets weekly for reporting and sharing for a three month period.  A pre-test and post-test procedure uses the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (Spielberger, Gorsuch, and Luschene).
