The goal was to demonstrate and encourage a thorough integration so that organizational wisdom might be informed, anchored and enriched by scriptural teaching. This goal was achieved through program development. The core biblical theme of hospitality was traced through Scripture, and juxtaposed with the four-lens approach of Bolman and Deal's Reframing organizations. Events designed by the Portsmouth District Superintendent, Virginia Conference, The United Methodist Church, placed him as the catalyzing agent for eleven congregations working through pastoral change: termination, transition, start-up, and six-month evaluation of a new pastor.  This document is part of a larger design setting the superintendency as the bonding agent of denominational vitalization. The district superintendent, through training and supervision, becomes the catalyst for developing the leadership of the pastor-parish relations committee.  The model was successfully tested in three churches of varying size within the Lexington District, Western North Carolina Conference, United Methodist Church. After establishing a PPRC in a local church and identifying the need for a training process, such a process was developed. Four churches in Penn Northeast Conference, UCC, agreed to go through the process to test its effectiveness and each church evaluated the process.  The project showed the process worked.
