This report seeks to explore how prayer and pastoral care can be revitalized for lay leaders in order for them to be more skilled and comfortable in their roles. The research used a survey to gather the thoughts and opinions of lay leaders. The project director utilized the research model described in the current New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary Doctor of Ministry Handbook. The project director researched a wide range of sources to gain a foundational understanding of pastoral internship programs across a broad spectrum of denominations. He used the material discovered through the research to develop a manual that will be used at Grace Baptist Church, as well as other churches, to implement a pastoral internship program within the context of the local church. Over the 8 weeks of the course students were exposed to biblical teachings on divorce and remarriage and how these teachings tend to be organized into biblical positions. While students were not compelled to embrace a particular position, they were encouraged to draw definite conclusions based upon teachings. If the church follows the methodology of enterprise management, the church will gradually become a secular non-profit organization. At the same time, the church has its own spiritual mission, and needs to be managed according to the Bible and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, does the church still need to employ the enterprise management concepts? Some people uphold that the church needs to incorporate the elements of enterprise management; however, some argue that the enterprise management methodologies will restrict the leading of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, there have been some great controversies in the area of church management. We see Jesus display God's heart through Luke 4:16-21 of the New Testament. By God's power and anointing, Jesus spreads the heavenly gospel to display that Christ is the Messiah and also God and thus fulfilling Isaiah 61:1-3. After Jesus rose again and ascended into Heaven, the disciples gathered in Jerusalem to await the promised Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples during the Pentecost, bringing them authority and enabling them to proclaim the heavenly gospel throughout the nations. By Christ's great power, many people received healing and deliverance. This research also includes the deductions made by experts on this subject and personal experiences in ministry to analyze the probable method that 'healing and deliverance' will be valued and utilized by churches to shepherd their people. The research content and area of this dissertation: 1.To investigate the theological principles behind 'healing and deliverance' and investigate the methods Jesus and his disciples used to serve; 2.Study the work of destruction Satan has initiated on Earth so Christians can overcome the power of darkness; 3.Provide breakthrough and the appropriate solution by answering: 'What subjective and objective challenges in the environment are faced during healing and deliverance?'; and, 4.Learn ways to establish authority and victory for the army of the Lord, save people for God. The researcher studied the biblical and theological natures of care and community and their interconnectedness to each other. He used qualitative research to conduct case studies of Ada Bible Church and North Point Community Church to identify transferable principles. The pre- and post-training worksheets were compared to determine the trainee's understanding and application of the principles. This project assessed the effectiveness of integrational ministry to single mother-led households in DuPage County, Illinois. Exegesis of key biblical passages revealed that these families were analogous to the widows and orphans in the biblical text. Data was collected via surveys of both church leadership and single mothers to determine ministry effectiveness to these families. Focus groups of ministry leaders used the survey data to assess current local church ministry and determine areas of needed improvement.
