The author's own experiences with pick-up soccer games and as part of this community served as the primary background. Sociological and theological resources regarding play were evaluated, with particular interest in how the 'unwritten' rules of a play community help to structure that community. The author 'mapped' the game's rules using descriptors applied by Ronald Grimes, and suggests corollary rules for the church in its efforts to build (especially) multicultural community."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b5eba5c2-141b-4673-9689-2f9720736859"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791127578021462016,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:46:08.565Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:12:11Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T03:27:03Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"b5ce1819-e3db-4027-afd6-6911278ed068","accessControl_ssim":["0c787811-5f28-48a2-b4c5-96f4aaa93661"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Placing and using a labyrinth for fellowship, spirituality and outreach at the Congregational Church of West Medford"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:12:11Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:22:51Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["996b0125-b990-4446-8aa4-858152d16646"],"hasLease_ssim":["bba4ee31-664e-4ada-8561-701bb6f51f7c"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Hartford Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["David A Roozen"],"year_tesim":["2004"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Kathryn M Titus"],"publisher_tesim":["Hartford Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Small groups","Pastoral theology","Labyrinths","Congregational Church (West Medford, Mass)"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Emerging national awareness of labyrinths in various settings to placement of a Chartres style labyrinth for fellowship, spirituality and outreach at The Congregational Church of West Medford, Massachusetts (UCC). Jung's dream analysis methods to unfold Jesus' parables in ways that encourage emotional and spiritual healing for parishioners in a pastoral counseling setting. The method of study followed a Sunday morning adult Bible class for eight weeks using the guide to explore Jesus' parables.
