With this conviction he examined the conditions of the Korean Church and the local church, the Bok-Ji church, he was serving as a senior pastor, and found that the church had too much focused on the side of individual salvation with paying little attention to joining the universal salvific work of God. At the end of his thesis, based on his Wesleyan belief and his pastoral experience, the researcher proposed on how a local church can operate its social welfare ministry successfully. The Experimental group will attend the same sermon series, but additionally attend small group studies on the same ten traits, as well as be required to read the Book Becoming a Healthy Disciple. To that end, this these constructs a pastoral storytelling methodology and guidebook. The pastoral storytelling methodology is focused on pastoral care situations such as in-office counseling, hospital visitation, and in-home visitation. But the methodology is not limited to use in formal counseling situations. It is designed so that it can be used any time and place pastoral care is needed. After demonstrating the importance and value of metaphors, it presents the father metaphor as a valuable addition to current metaphorical language in use. Due to widespread difficulties with pastoral identity and cultural confusion about the role of biological fathers, this thesis sets forth a rediscovery of the term 'father' which can be applied to pastoral ministry in the twenty-first century. The purpose of this study is to reintroduce the figure of John Berridge to a contemporary readership. Second it will argue that it is John Berridge's appropriation of the post-Reformational experiential tradition with its re-discovery of justification by faith that is foundational to his conversion, surrounds his experience in the Cambridgeshire Revival, and sustains his ministry in Everton. In developing this concept, the constructs of meaning, purpose, and structure are helpful to use. The therapist then must decide which approaches are appropriate to use from their philosophical stand point as well as the needs of the family. An integrated approach to therapy is the most useful. The situation is complicated as individuals come to know, through work or school, people who display homosexual behaviors. The struggle comes as the result of two conflicting ideas: the biblical teachings opposing homosexual activity and the relational experiences connecting people together. As a result, severe stress comes when a member of a traditional Christian family announces they are homosexual. This thesis seeks to demonstrate an approach to counseling families in distress that is both biblically sound and psychologically effective. The approach will be integrative, applying a theologically supported, structural relations oriented approach looking at the context of the family. Sixty Chinese scholars who have become Christians since coming to North America were surveyed.  The author examined the qualitative research, analyzed the answers and observed and organized answers most given. Christians caring and sharing their lives was the top factor that encouraged belief and bad behavior of Christians was the top factor impeding belief.
