A training model including twelve sessions of lecture and group activities was developed, and a selected group of adults was enlisted.  To test for a cognitive gain of knowledge, the experimental method of pretesting and posttesting was used.  Test comparisons revealed a significant increase in the cognitive test scores of the experimental group.  A t-value of 2.76 was computed which was significant at the .01 level of confidence. The group used statistical reports, interviews, and surveys with the theological framework of kairos, God's decisive time, to present pertinent data for the congregation's plans. The church is located in a rapidly changing community and must have a plan in order to reach and minister to that community.  The church, led by the pastor, elected a long-range planning committee, and through surveys and census information the committee identified the church's strengths and weakness and established a target group.  The committee then used this information and developed a plan that addressed some of the identified needs of the target group. Nine long-range goals and eight pastoral leadership skills were developed and presented to the congregation at a church conference. A team of twelve volunteer leaders was chosen to study the demographics of the church and community, as well as ministry concepts that work.  They then developed a ministry strategy with a new vision/purpose statement and a target person personality profile.  They also created goals for improvement in six areas of concern.  These areas were building and grounds, organization and ministries, outreach and publicity, hospitality, visitation and follow-up, and integration of new members.  The result of this project was that the church went from being an inwardly focused church to a community-focused church. Calvary Baptist Church is the project's feature and the goal will be to develop a plan for growth that will assist the church in her faithfulness to the Great Commission of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ: to go, to preach, to teach, and to make disciples of all persons. Designing a two-year church growth plan will include the investigation and incorporation of a stream of church growth resources. Theologically, the plan for church growth must be built upon a solid biblical bedrock.  Studies must be made of the church and community to determine the demographics of the areas targeted.  Methods must be discovered and discernment made as to their feasibility for application to this ministry setting. Finally, a plan will be designed and an evaluation of the plan will be offered, to critique all that has been discovered and suggested as a means for church growth to occur. Although this project deals with a particular church, the considerations of this process would be beneficial and would provide opportunity for productive church
