The thesis was primarily an engagement with literature and ideas, with a small survey component.  The author developed a practical theology of beauty, primarily referencing the work of David Bentley Hart, and an approach to a definition of beauty, referencing Immanuel Kant's Third Critique.  He offered five descriptors for beauty: Fitness, Durability, Motion, Force, and Metaphor.
