Following the example of Jesus and his disciples, they have also emphasized medical, agricultural, and educational ministries.  One area that has perhaps been neglected has been Christian counsel. This project develops teaching and resource materials to train a small group of Baptist ministers to deal effectively with the issue of polygamy. This evaluation should come from knowledge of South African culture, the view of marriage presented by Scripture, and the experiences of women within polygamous marriages.  The author's interviews with women reveal a great deal of pain and anger over being in such marriages.
