This paper focuses on the image of God and the experiences of power presented in the worship service in liturgy and preaching, as they impact the lives of the participants.  To do this one must provide alternative images of power, to widen one's comprehension of God.  the study uses surveys and discussion groups to evaluate the results. The first woman pastor in a century-old German church, the preacher first tried to empower the congregation by preaching for individual autonomy.  Then the preacher struggled through scriptural discipline and embodiment of the Word to gain authenticity as preacher.
