Through the 4-D (discovery, dream, design and destiny) process of appreciative inquiry the youth took part in a process of exploring their beliefs, their community of faith, their call to ministry and sense of hope. The purpose concerned understanding the state of spiritual formation practices among the missionaries as well as discerning the measure of influence they exert on the three aforementioned dimensions of missionary life. The project utilized the Spiritual Well Being Scale developed by Ellison and Paloutzian and a researcher-designed instrument to gather the information for statistical analysis and correlations. The results indicated that the practice of regular spiritual disciplines definitely influence spiritual well-being within the population of missionaries of Greater Europe Mission. However, with regard to perceived ministry effectiveness and retention, the results were mixed and only a weak relationship was indicated, which was insufficient to meet the criteria of this study for a valid correlation. It looked at how they changed as a result of that practice.  The Christian spiritual participation profile was used to measure the balance of and depth of participation in: their experience with God, their critical reflection of culture and self, their interaction with God's Word, and their relationship with others. The correlation between transferable church health characteristics and quantitative church growth is analyzed with the use of a researcher-designed questionnaire.  The literature review studies the organic and organizational aspects of church health through a theological understanding of the church as community. The findings demonstrate a positive relationship between the perception of church health and church growth. According to the findings of a survey on the need of establishing the Quality Age-Graded Caring Group done by the writer in 2000, he found out that since the return of Hong Kong to China, church ministers are facing increasing pressure in pastoral care. Therefore, the writer formulates a 13-point 'E.X.C.E.L.L.E.N.T. C.A.R.E.,' strategies as the foundation on which the church designs her strategies for 'Quality Caring Ministry' (QCM). In addition, the writer introduces a rapidly growing 'Quality Church' in Hong Kong--Shatin Baptist Church--as a case study and investigates how she applies the 13 strategic points of QCM in her pastoral caring ministry to expand God's kingdom.
