This project demonstrates that biblical prayer principles constitute the most effective model for Christian prayer, and that consistent practice of these principles produces positive change in prayer attitudes, habits, results, knowledge, experience, and personal needs.  Despite the prominence Scripture gives prayer in making Christian life and ministry effectual, Christians fail in developing effective prayer lives.  Inability to pray effectually themselves and secure God's answer fosters problems of spiritual ineptness and defeat. A six-week study group examined seven written intercessions from various religious traditions, and focused on five 'circles of concern' which identified relationships from the self to the whole of creation.  The image of these 'circles' proved useful to the participants both in expanding their personal prayer life and in their appreciation of worship. Quantitative measurement was gained through statistical analysis of scores from identical pre- and posttest questionnaires. Non-quantitative evaluation included discussion, interviews, and observation. The results were positive.
