The project design included a five-week training seminar on the discipline of prayer in the devotional life. A sixth session about leading small groups was implemented among the deacon group. However, people within Western and Eastern traditions are unaware of or do not understand each other's ways of obtaining inner peace.  Two rich forms of prayer are largely unknown apart from their respective traditions are Ignatian prayer practices and Taoist prayer practices.  This project builds a bridge that connects these two streams so that Eastern and Western people can come to know and love one another more for the holistic well-being of humanity.  This project discusses Taoist and Ignatian spirituality and integrates them at the level of both theory and practice.  The study demonstrates how, while neither tradition is deficient in its own right, each can complement the other and enlarge the whole spiritual experience for Christians--to be whole, and to be complete in body, mind and spirit. A model for this integration of Ignatian prayer practices and Taoist meditation practices is 'Awareness of God in all things.' This practicum/project proposes that by exploring varied forms of prayer persons can deepen their relationships with God.  The practicum/project was conducted in two retreat settings.  The format of the retreats included discussion followed by opportunities for personal prayer.  Four prayer experiences were offered. This practicum/project has indicated that there can be a positive relationship between exploring new forms of prayer and enhancing one's relationship with God. The prayer styles reflected the functions of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.  In 73 percent of the cases, participants found a prayer style they preferred.  Levels of comfort, a sense of God's presence, and the style's similarity to prayer patterns utilized prior to the study were the strongest determinants of preference.  The author concludes that teaching people a variety of prayer styles is beneficial to spiritual growth. Methods used include the examination of works discussing a foundational understanding of prayer, the analysis of prayer collections, daily journaling, interviews with those who pray, analysis of prayers drafted for corporate worship, and the assessment of this study's learning goals and of the theological dimensions uncovered. The hypothesis was that systems prayer grows in the local church when believers today pray with the same intentions and motivations believers had in the Bible.  A program was developed for group participants and then evaluated.  The hypothesis was proven
