The author researched dynamic prayer in a group in which participants prayed daily for three months for God to reveal God's will for Clinton Church's ministries.  The author used participants' surveys and recorded experiences to evaluate God's work and spiritual growth through prayer.  The conclusion was that spiritual growth resulted in six individuals who became closer to God through dynamic prayer and gained a clearer understanding of ministry in their church. He sought to accomplish this through eight one-hour, weekly training sessions, and a one-day prayer retreat.  The participants indicated that they grew in their understanding and practice of intercessory prayer. In addition, the author drew upon effective, contextual models developed and implemented in pastoral ministry. Through the implementation of classes, a prayer team and opportunities for lay involvement with prayer ministry the desired effect was a strengthening of the congregation's relationship to God and others and the laity would become more confident in their ability to serve along with the clergy. The participants were given the eight-week class and evaluated by a pretest and posttest of the Spiritual Well-Being Scale, pretest and posttest interviews, and field research notes. Guided imagery prayer can heal the shame women feel. The process used was a spiritual retreat for women. They were led in guided imagery meditations of four healing stories of Jesus: the healing of the bent-over woman (Luke 13:10-17); the healing of Jairus' daughter (Mark 5:21-24a,35-43); the woman who had been bleeding for twelve years (Mark 5:24-34); and the woman at the well (John 4:4-30). After each exercise they participated in a discussion about their experience. The retreat was a positive experience for each woman. Some of them felt healing that day. Few of them continued to use the meditations by themselves after the retreat.
