The prayer styles reflected the functions of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.  In 73 percent of the cases, participants found a prayer style they preferred.  Levels of comfort, a sense of God's presence, and the style's similarity to prayer patterns utilized prior to the study were the strongest determinants of preference.  The author concludes that teaching people a variety of prayer styles is beneficial to spiritual growth. Methods used include the examination of works discussing a foundational understanding of prayer, the analysis of prayer collections, daily journaling, interviews with those who pray, analysis of prayers drafted for corporate worship, and the assessment of this study's learning goals and of the theological dimensions uncovered. Using Terry Tekyl's Personal Prayer-Evangelism Guide in a Sunday school program, participants were asked to pray daily.  To measure evangelistic change, participants answered a questionnaire, once initially, another after the study, and the last twelve weeks later. Positive changes were seen in participants' prayer habits, attitudes, and evangelistic activities. However, most Korean Christians seem more interested in the actual practice of prayer than in the theological intricacies it may involve.  Chapter 1 describes the prayer habits of Korean Christians and gives a history of the prayer movements of the Korean Protestant Church from the awakening of 1907 to the present.  A field study conducted to gain knowledge of the present prayer life of Korean immigrant churches in Canada is analyzed in chapter 2.  Theological formulations for the practice of prayer in Christian life, Jesus' teaching and practice of prayer comprise chapter 3.  Chapter 4 suggests ways to help people pray more effectively by reviewing the most important characteristics of Christian prayer. The training consisted of a weekend prayer retreat and a ten-week support group.  Each participant took the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and learned about their psychological type. Participants then learned four different types of prayer as taught in Prayer and Temperament: Different Prayer Forms of Different Personality Types by Chester P Michael and Marie C Norrisey.
