The goal of this project was to train a group of people to be intercessors during the Sunday morning worship service. Twelve task force members were led to understand the purpose of an intercessory prayer ministry of this nature and were equipped to pray through an entire service.  The project resulted in positive growth both for the individuals who participated and for the church as a whole. The nature of this study included selecting members from a church congregation and teaching them principles about prayer.  The study combined this information with leadership principles and equipped the study group to become leaders in this area in the church. The selected group now serves as a model group for the practice of prayer in the church. A hypothesis that the use of singular or plural pronouns in corporate prayer would effect the degree to which the participant experienced forgiveness was tested.  A questionnaire developed by James Emerson, and modified for this study, was used to collect data.  The research suggests the need for a rite of passage for persons who make a public profession of faith and become members of the church.
