This preaching series consisted of twelve sermons preached from February to May 2009.  The project began with a statement of need for a God-exalting series on the attributes of God.  Chapter 2 established the biblical and theological basis for the preaching series.  My purpose was not to expound every attribute of God in Scripture but to focus on several key attributes which are controversial: God's wrath and the doctrine of Hell, his sovereignty over all things, his knowledge of all things, and his immutability.  In chapter 3, I described five goals of this preaching series. In chapter 4, I concluded with an evaluation, combining qualitative and quantitative research methods, gleaned from congregation and focus group before, during, and after the twelve-week preaching series.  The feedback received proved invaluable in my understanding as a shepherd and pastor.  The findings were very encouraging.  The congregation grew in their understanding of God's character revealed in Scripture. The director researched the field of application in preaching through reviewing the Bible, searching publications about application in preaching, consulting experts, studying sermon examples, and conducting interviews with experienced preachers. The director reflected on the use of application in preaching to find general functions and principles of application and then developed a series of sermons that demonstrated the use of applications in preaching. Preaching every Sunday is a demanding job for the pastor of a local church. Nevertheless, a pastor must take the task of preaching seriously, because, historically, God used preaching to call His own people and bring them to salvation. Therefore, a pastor must do his best to preach in order to effect a change in his audience for God's glory. One concern of a pastor is to know how to use a main idea in his preaching. This thesis will examine the use of a main idea in twenty sermons that exemplify the preaching of John Han Heum Oak. Various kinds of methods may be incorporated for preaching effectively. One of them is to use a main idea. The purpose of preaching is not merely to pass on useful information, but to motivate a change in a person to live his or her life for God. Development of the project included the preparation and delivery of doctrinal sermons and the utilization of young adults within the congregation, ages 20 to 39, as recipients and resources to provide sermon analysis.  The project director utilized the ministry-skill enhancement model.  Six doctrinal surveys were completed by the participants prior to a six-part doctrinal sermon series.  The comparison of the surveys with the feedback provided by the recipients and two mentors indicate the positive effects of doctrinal preaching on young adults as well as the enhancement of the project director's doctrinal preaching
