Its research developed a definition for prophetic preaching by exploring the writings of the biblical prophets. It also studied the psychological, ecclesial, and cultural factors that encourage or discourage such preaching for today's priest. Through surveys and focus group sessions, the experience of today's Church with prophetic preaching was explored. The project started with presentations of biblical and theological perspectives on preaching in relation to life situations and historical and sociological perspectives on Korean immigrants in parallel to biblical and other immigrants. The project continued with a survey conducted on a typical Korean immigrant congregation to reveal how sermons influence them and change their perception of what is going on in their lives. The project also included manuscripts of sermons delivered to the congregation during this process. The conclusion of the project was to display the value of sermons that seek to change lives as well as the importance of the faithfulness and humility of the preachers to the Word of God. Many ministries have wholeheartedly embraced Internet technology through websites, blogs, live chats and a myriad of other applications. While thoughtful people have offered biblical perspective both endorsing and warning against this trend, there continues to be much need to carefully think about how new technologies can come alongside various aspects of ministry in a way that maximizes their benefits and minimizes their inherent dangers. This project explores how the Internet can enhance the impact of a preaching ministry by providing a forum to discuss the content of a sermon after it has been delivered. Through a review of biblical literature it demonstrates the Bible's various techniques to create mental images to communicate God's truth. Through an examination of secular research and practices, the author demonstrates the importance of imagery in memory. Through a perusal of both ancient and modern history it demonstrates how skillful communicators across the ages have used imagery for effectiveness in communication. The author then applies the insights to homiletics. Piety, as it is used here, refers to a person's beliefs, attitudes, and practices of the sacrament. Reformed and sacramental refer to the traditional Presbyterian doctrines of the Supper as articulated by John Calvin and professed in the confessions of the Presbyterian Church (USA). The praxis director preached a sermon series, taught a class, and wrote a hymn, with the goal of increasing the value the congregation places on the sacrament. An understanding of congregational conflict is sought in the small church set in the rural (town and country) community. Ten principles are identified for cultivating the preacher's spiritual health so they are prepared to preach. Sixteen principles are identified for sculpting the preacher's message to manage conflict from the pulpit. It was taught twice at that university by the same instructor with classes of four and sixteen students. Students successfully absorbed the Biblical preaching material, but they did not absorb The seven laws of the learner because of its overwhelming detail. The conclusion was that a course at this level must use books streamlined along the lines of Biblical preaching to avoid 'mental dazzle' or information overload.
