The research proves Whitefield's doctrinal preaching content was a primary factor for why God used him so mightily in the Great Awakening era and beyond contrary to common misinterpretations for his success. A six-week preaching series presented the six principles to our church and included evaluative surveys analyzed in this project. This listener study surveyed 651 Catholic high school students to determine what makes for effective connection with them. Focus groups, clergy interviews, observational research, and literature review further developed that knowledge. Statistical analysis upended certain widely held assumptions. Regular Mass attendees rated the person of their preacher highly. Persuasive preaching's goal is to convince the listener to align his or her attitude and action with the message of the sermon. This study seeks to discover a paradigm for this. The praxis director chose twelve individuals to participate in surveys and interviews. The director preached a series of four sermons focused on one general theme. After the sermon series, the director conducted a ministry program directly connected to the theme of the sermon series. Participants in the podcast project were members of the writer's own parish. The podcasts were specifically produced in relationship to homilies delivered in the local parish church. The project utilized a qualitative method of study taking weekly written survey reactions from participants and face-to-face exit interviews at the project conclusion. Participants were very positive toward the experience and found it enriching.
